More active women in political and civil life of BiH

Association of Election Officials in Bosnia and Herzegovina (AEOBIH) started implementation of the project entitled “More active women in four municipalities in political and civil life of BiH” in October 2012. This project is supported by the Government of Canada through the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives.

The objective of the project is to educate women about changes and reforms, encourage them to have an influence on decision making and participate as active citizens in local and central government, and support them in developing skills in obtaining information themselves and using the information for actions to create an environment where women are an active and integral part of public policy development and decision making. The main activities are organizing trainings in four BiH municipalities: Doboj, Usora, Istočna Ilidža and Ilidža on the following topics:

• Accountable Government and Active Citizenship;
• Human Rights, and
• Gender Equality.
