TRAINING FOR PUBLIC HEARINGS


Association of Election Officials in Bosnia and Herzegovina (AEOBiH), in cooperation with partners – Centers for Civic Initiatives (CCI) and Civil Society Promotion Center (CSPC), will implement the project entitled “Training for Public Hearings” in the period from February 1, 2007 to August 31, 2007.

The main goals of this project are the following:

• Develop capacity of civil society to participate in public hearings and engage with the state parliament;

• Increase public awareness about possibility of participation in the legislative process;

• Improve legislative process;

• During seven-month project implementation, AEOBiH will hold 8 trainings and 6 public tribunes. Beneficiaries of the project will be CSOs from the following regions: Banja Luka, Bihać, Tuzla, Brčko, Sarajevo, Livno, Mostar and Trebinje.

Specific target groups will be selected in cooperation with partners – CCI and CSPC, and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) based on outcomes of the public information campaign and expressed interest.

This project is implemented thanks to the funds of the OSCE and the US Government.
